Texture/style playabout

I'm a bit texture happy lately (and lacking in posts here. Whoops). Don't think I'll post this on dA, it only took an hour or so to finish. When I wear my two silver clips when I'm going out, I feel way more confident, so I wanted to doodle something and had this in my head. Kinda went for a more angular style, which I like, it's a nice change.

Need some advice about talking on camera

Okay, so I've got nearly everything I need for my video, except the main thing - the actual voiceover / video footage. And this is where I've got stuck, too. While I've recorded a few audio bits in the past, I've never appeared on video before, and I can't seen to do it. I set up my camera, postision it right, sit in the right place, but I can't get myself to talk. I'm getting that with recording the audio too, it's like I can't talk at a regular sound level when I'm not talking to anyone and I don't know why.

So I was wonder, to you guys who appear on camera or record voiceover for reviews, vlogs, podcasts, etc., how do you do it when there are always people in the house / your house is directly connected to next door? This has been bugging me for the longest time, and it's what's stopping me getting further with this.

Would having someone in the house read the script make it easier? Would having someone in the room to 'talk to' while looking at the camera work?

I'm also debating whether to actually appear on video or just use cartoon drawing of myself instead.

From my (eventually) upcoming video

Gah, last minute post today o.o Maybe this once a day thing wasn't such a great idea, I think I'm gonna ditch it now since I've posted once a day for at least a week, which is a pretty good start.

So with this video, I'm gonna fill some parts with drawings. Here's the first one that I finished today, I've got another one that follows straight after but it's not done yet.

I took out one of the biggest clues about it ;3 But yeah, it is kind of a hint as well. Too lazy for celshading on a throwaway pic I won't post anywhere (except here :P).

That's it for today. Went out again with my family, which takes a load out of my day. I really enjoy it tho' :)

Blog recommendations + more updates

Spent most of today trying to figure out how best to get my webcam videos working with my video editor to actually make some videos (the ones that aren't vlogs, at least. They'll be waaaay easier to make). I finally figured it out, but it involved recording the footage with the program I got with my webcam, putting it in one editor, converting it to DV-AVI then importing it to my main video editor to use.

...Yeah, my editors hate me.

But anyways, onto better stuff - blog recommendations! :D Mainly a couple of blogs I look at frequently on blogger.
