Lita cosplay #3

So I ended up sneaking in some work on Lita's hat again X3 Ended up taking nearly the whole thing apart to rebuild it. Didn't take long tho', the first time I took it off, my morning it had fallen apart! So with some thicker cardboard and more masking tape later, I have this.

Ugh, I look so bad X_x Had an annoying ache in my head all day, so I'm a bit out of it XD Still needs work, but it holds together much better now, at least ^^

Hopefully gonna do a bit of work on it after my first craft fair and I'm back from holiday, even if it's using scrap to figure it all out :3

Lita cosplay #2

Thought I'd try out making Lita's hat today. Found some thick jewellery wire that had lost a lot of its silver colour, so I wanted to use it for the hat frame.

It's got a ways to go yet. I gotta make it so it doesn't curve so high at the top, make the wire frame for the bottom more centered and make sure the whole thing'll hold up when the materials' put on it. Right now it's pretty light tho' ^^

I know my hair'll make the fit tighter when I've got a wig on, but it sits further up on the head anyway :3

Lita cosplay #1

Starting updates early this year X3 Main reason being is that I needed to know if what I wanted to do would be alright. So I emailed Granny Gertrude (Joe. He's awesome >D) and got a reply this morning ^^


"Ah, interesting. The short answer would be that this would be at the discretion of the judges, as ultimately how they choose to apply the rules and criteria is their decision and we respect that.

However, I suspect having the original artwork and and illustration of how you were blending them would probably go down quite well with most of the people we have serve as judges."

 

 

So it's looking to be quite likely I'll mix the two designs together.

I'll be sure to post finished designs when I've got them ^^ Got some initial designs sketched, just not completely finalised yet.

Also gonna make her weaponry. She uses claws.

Largest reference I can get, unfortunately ^^; But I've worked around it and drawn up a full reference for how to make it =D

So wish me luck, everyone! It's not the most elaborate cosplay, but I've only seen 4 or so other Lita cosplayers and I'm determined to do her justice next year <3

Cosplay progress #1

Since this blog's getting a bit underused, I decided for now I'll use it for cosplay progress! :D

For those curious, I'm cosplaying my own thief design from Final Fantasy and my sister's cosplaying a red mage. We're gonna be at the Midlands MCM Expo in Telford on Febuary 18th.

So right now, I've got pretty much everything I needed from shops bought, including boots, shorts, socks, shirt and the things I need to make the rest.

Today me and my mum spent the afternoon cutting out all the pattern pieces we needed for both me and my sister's cosplay. So hopefully I'll have a funky green waistcoat to show you all soon ;3 Same goes for my bandana and sash. I got my measurements and all that sorted, just gotta cut them out, add hems and all that good stuff!

For those wanting some photo progress, I got a couple to show how it's going ^^

Taken a month or so back. May have overknee socks, may have knee socks, we'll see. All that's missing is the stuff I gotta sew myself X3

And now for a glove :P Got some tweaks to make to this still, such as sewing the top of the glove to give it more definition and make the fingers not so wrinkly. Other than that, it fits like, well, a glove!

Should have more updates soon. With the expo next month, I really gotta get cracking, huh?

Thieving time~ ;3

Finally got all the gems sorted for my little loot pouch on my thief cosplay. Bought 3 packs for scrapbook gems from The Works (99p each, can't really lose X3) and glued the halves together.

They certainly pass the shiny test XP Now I just need the pouch to but them in...

Still need to finish my dagger too so I can make that tutorial for it, heheh ^^;

As for other updates, I'm nealy halfway through toning my Manga Jiman entry. In a few days I should be all done! :D Gonna feel weird not posting a new TrickSong page tonight, but I've got one page left as my buffer and I'd rather wait the week to use it.

Anything anyone who might be reading wanna see? I'm hoping to share some of the fun of shows and games I had when I was a kid that people don't talk about as much. Might even make a video or two if things go well :3

First proper post'll hopefully be this weekend. I think I'll post a small series of blogs about my own Acorn Archimedes. So many fun times and so much weirdness to share with people. Fun times.
